a couple of days ago I had to discribe Matoh burning the will of his fosterfather. Now: this is a premodern world, mostly technologywise high to late middle ages. There is definitely no surplus of paper even though there would be some available I suppose since they are keeping books and records, but then so did our ancestors (and on the weirdest things too) well while I watch my naive youngling taking the document to the flame I suddenly realise that the will would be on vellum/parchment rather than paper... so my inner editor yells CUT!
Now, I have asked the fabulous
beard5 how burning vellum would burn, if it would stink, if he had any idea about this. To my surprise I didn't hear from him for a while. And I figured that he probably was busy and didn't know.
Well both was true but guess what. He tested it. Just for me. Somebody on the other side of the planet that he had met in chat. Isn't that the cutets thing, so for me he took perfectly good vellum/parchment to the flame and endured the abhorend burning- hair/meat stink and watched the piece smolder and shrink and burning almost invisbly.
Thank you again, I bow to you in serious gratitude Master Beard. And I will raise my glass to you at the horseradish war next weekend.
You guys here just rock !
