Renée came home at 1 a.m. today. They got stuck at Berlin Airport due to a weather turbulence. she had terribly red cheeks, so I let her sleep in, but now she would only still have phys ed so we decided to keep her today and tomorrow it is back to school for another week.
The book apperently was well received and my lovely friend Johanna took pictures of the presentation:

this is the other book, the one I had to put together in like two hours before the husband left. It is a translation of the fighter's part of the Marshal's handbook into German, as we are having a number of German fighter's who seem uncomfortable with having to read through it in English.
I did my own letters in that one, but based it on what I got from lovely Lady
aryanhwy I would have flat out stolen her design, but alas I did not have ANY white color, so instead I made something up (which probably anybody will be able to tell, but it was pretty and acceptable to the husband) I#ll put them up a little later.
for those interested the few pictures he/ the person who happened to hold the camera took are at

this week was a bit crazy. Here is Karneval, which means that everybody dresses up, most get drunk and the kid s get drowned in candy thrown at them. It all started on Wednesday, when I picked my mother up at the airport (just a sideline) she wasn't in a mood to celebrate (like me) since my grandmother, her mother, died just a few weeks ago. but the kids certainly didn't want to miss out. On thursday they had to dress up AND be in school/Daycare in time. Now Renée had torn her costume and we had to redo the skirt Wednesday evening, so it wasn't as lovely as anticipated: behold Odile, the black swan (and , I do pray, do not behold the mess around her).

( sorry Rant! )I really don't know what to do anymore. I don't.

Ok, it is back to school/day care for the kids next weekend and - shame on me - I am sooooo looking forward to it. It isn't that my kids are horrible or particularyl stressful. actually they are sweet and loving and nice, but I can't get anything done with them around. We have a small apartment. Now mind you we have a lovely apartment but we moved in here as a couple and now we are four people. Usually I am the only person who is actually here all day, and Renée joins me around 2 PM, Manou 5 Pm and André comes at 6 PM and teh kids go to bed at 8 PM. So usually everything is fine, but 24/7 is making things annoyingly tight. Plus I want to focus on my writing. There is only so much you can do without uninterupted writing time. Also the place gets messed up every day, everywhere. Either I get stressed out cleaning up or ignore it until the kids are gone (on a walk with their dad or something) and hurry and if they are not gone things just stay messy. I choose the latter but some days I am just annoyed with thi messiness. Bear with me, one more week and the schadowbooks will come to life,
I shouldn't complain. I had a lovely weekend, and I got my ducttape dressing bust almost done (WOW I am big) and I have lovely plans for next weekend. And it is only one more week until school starts again.

OK. One week down, two more to go. *sigh* yes kids are great but 24/7 is really not my kind of happiness. This
Is my only claim to creativity this weekend. In case you hadn't guessed, my eldest turned seven yesterday and She had begged me to make her this one. It had to be a mermaid and she had everything figured out. It isn't my best piece ever but she was happy. And NO, the doll isn't marzipan, its Mattel, methinks.

OK guys, I am clearly insane but I am making progress on all fronts. (well, maybe not on the cleaning up front but on all others. mood improving, writing mind back online, sewing on track, social life online, embroidering like mad...) But nobody told me that the *embroidery bug* is contagious. Look at what happened yesterday:

I am not kidding. They didn't *pose* like that they insisted on getting fabric and thread and needles and got to work.
just so you don't think I am making this up: This is her result for the afternoon's work. Manou was crying that she wanted a *sun* too, so made her this:

and this is my current state of affairs:
